This is section appears to be going the way of all flesh. It's so far from cutting edge that blunt might be an improvment. In short it may be "dead" - stored for historic purposes untill such time as a godlike person gives it life. Do Not Delete.

Blog:CMS is, too be honest, a pile of crap. Please go here to learn about upgrading to NucleusCMS

Gay Alien says: Blog:CMS is gay.

This thing is gay, gay, gay

...and I know gay - I'm the Gay Alien.

Once you have installed BLOG:CMS you still need to install you forum etc... navigate to yoursite.tld/forum/install.php and follow your nose.

After the Forum is installed navigate to your admin area yoursite.tld/admin and select plugins. Down the bottom of the screen is a combo box (dropdown menu) that contains non-installed plugins. Add the PunBB plug in and now all new blog users will be forum users too.

Of course you now need to tell you users this (and make sure your forum people know that it doesn't work the other way).

[edit] Notes

  • When installing be sure not to use a tempory URL (like you get when you first get hosting) as this can screw you up somewhat later.
  • Sometimes the upload is not all good - don't be afraid to upload files again (and again and again).
  • A common problem is the "headers already sent" error in the wiki. This is caused by login failure and a few other issues. The best cure seems to be to make sure all the files that should be are uploaded binary or ascii as required (ascii for php, txt etc). However the code base need updating as it is shockingly out of date.
  • Many wiki errors are files not CHMOD to 777. Most FTP programs allow you to do this. The wiki uses flat files and does not pull it's users from the main DB. I hope to add a MODIFICATION download that will pull from the forum. This will now never happen. Sorry but the code base is irritravably smegged

[edit] needed

Things we feel the system lacks.

  • universal login (across all the "projects")
  • (far) more advanced plugin managment.
  • to sack the lead developer.
  • to learn a little humility, cut the crap and fix the bugs
