A new game under development by Lord Matt.

[edit] Introduction

The idea is to generate game characters called truely tiny gods (often refered to as TTGs) and watch, support and talk about thier progress or lack thereof.

Users can attempt to influence thier god, or godess of choice in a number of ways which include subscribing to the god's RSS feed, blogging about the god, submitting "prayers" or giving real life money to thier vertual priests. However the end result is never clear - just like in real life.

This is based on some basic theories about humans, thought, free will, memes and the effect of simple rules to produce complex results. Not to mention a few other basic ideas.

The aim, however, is simple - to have fun.

[edit] TTG - stats

The truely tiny dieties have a number of stats which indicate the strengths and weaknesses they have. Some are more important than others.

[edit] Power

The most important one is called energy or sometime power. It is what the TTG uses to smite and do other TTG like things. However it is the life force of the TTG and therefore if they use it up fighting and doing other things they perish.

[edit] Smite

smite indicates the rate they burn through thier energy. A high smite value means the TTG can be very destructive but it also means they have far fewer "hits" to dish out.

The energy rechage of gods is currently a mystery.

[edit] Colour

Colour does not effect the image of the TTG or icon as it is sometimes called but indicated the favourate colour, or maby the colour the god thinks it is... who knows.

[edit] IQ

IQ is used to work out the reaction of TTGs from time to time but as TTGs feel that being a god means they don't need to think they often totally fail to use what inteligence they might have.

[edit] tollerence

tollerence controls how likely the TTG is to be effected by something. A high value here wouldmean that the TTG is unconcerned and laid back and hard to offend but is also likely to be hard to please. A TTG with a low tollerence score is likely to be easy to please but is also likely to get frisky much more readily and just as likely to get angry.

The exact reaction as the tollerence point is reached is controlled by the TTG-DNA strands.

[edit] Other Stats

Other stats include BO and Sex Appeal. These two stats effect the liklihood that two dieties will get on or at least get close enough to compair opinions.

[edit] Technology

The exact effectivness or result of visitor efforts to influence TTGs is subject to debate and experimentation. The code has been written in such a way to user little or no random values but to create psudo randomness from one way encryption of things like the god's name or age.

The "randomiser" is, of course, fate (and the interest of real life people).

Fate is simulated by a random selection of encounters between gods which are then played out according to the psudo random rules. The play of these rules, while lacking randomness, is very hard to predict and often results in small or not-so-small changes that will effect a future encounter of exactly the same nature which would of course cause a slightly different outcome.

[edit] Interaction

At present it is unclear how users are able to interact with TTGs. Users can subscribe to the feeds of each TTG which ammounts to a minor act of worship and gives some sort of boost to the TTG.

The fun is derived from picking a TTG and getting your friends to do likewise, laughing at it's adventures and misadventures and willing it to greatness.

[edit] Future

As development continues it is planned to allow the TTG server to pull feeds from supports sites and analyse them for words in support or conflict with the demands and requirements of selected TTGs. Other ideas include an embeded XML tag javascript live-data web widgets and maybe even penny or fantisy betting.

One idea that has a lot of staying power is the creation of monthly leagues based on such stats as "godly power", "most frisky god" or "most followers".

[edit] events

The developers plan to run regular global god-space events such as full on wars, the introduction of story based TTGs crafted to add particular spice or even recruitment contests where attachment (by total TTG number) to a white, green, blue or black domain (in the normal way) might decided the next stage of story.

See A history of big events in the truely tiny god-o-sphere for a record of these events.

[edit] The war in heaven

Once the number of gods, the rate of god death and the rate of new gods crosses certain barriers the war in heaven will start (again) to clear the air somewhat. TTGs of certain standing, affiliation or age may (or may not) be excluded.

[edit] The war on earth

following the war in heaven the gods will retire to the ethier once more and get thier followers to beatup the other guys followers. This will see the first impact of truely tiny followers (TTF)

[edit] Hero gods

With the introduction of "followers" which have the same data pattern as TTGs there is the chance that a TTG follower could rise to "godhood" through regualr battle on behalf of his or her god or godess of choice. This would allow new TTGs to be created that have followers, allies and enemies in the god-o-sphere laready. This new TTG will likely be notably different from the regular TTG and this could lead to more stories.

Potentially proto-hero's could be followed by users in the same way with users compeating to pick the next great one.

[edit] Baby TTGs

TTGs are able to friskily chase other TTGs of a different gender and so a future path could well be the natural (whatever that might be) process and allow for baby TTGs. These would be of truely minimal power (no followers) but with the combined attributes and skills of the parents.

[edit] Card Games

If you remember "Top Trumps" card games you will already be starting to think as the developers. TTGs have plenty of stats a script could be developed to make a printable "Top Trumps" style game from the TTGs this could be printed off and cut into individule playing cards.
